DESCRIPTION:

Responsible

for all Marketing activities related to Estee Lauder North America Makeup

(including Foundation & Color) and Estee Lauder Fragrances. Responsibilities include planning and

executing marketing programs in line with the regional and global marketing

objectives to increase sales and grow market share in North America, while

improving profitability as well as developing and preparing overall category

budgets. This role entails working

closely with the Global Marketing as

well as cross-functional North America teams (Accounts, Creative, Consumer

Engagement) to deliver comprehensive 360 degree marketing plans for new

launches, hero commercializations and key holiday/traffic time periods.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

North America Makeup andFragrance Strategy, Sales Growth and Market Share Gain

  • Point person fordefining and implementing Makeup and Fragrance marketing objectives forNA, and ensuring that the NA and Global strategies are synergistically inplace to achieve them.

  • Acts as primaryLiaison between NA affiliate and the Global Makeup and Fragrance teams toensure that local market needs are being met and that each program isappropriate to succeed in the market.

  • Develop strategies tocapture top consumer opportunities in Makeup (e.g., Hispanic, link-sellbetween categories, foundation & lip).

  • Provide clearmarketing guidelines for the Canadian market, with enough detail and in atimeline what will allow for market-customization and effective execution. Partner closely with Estee Lauder.comteam to ensure harmonization across channels.

360 Strategy Developmentand Cross-functional Coordination

  • Liaise withcross-functional teams to develop North America specific programs andsupport materials for areas of responsibility.

  • Lead and driveindividual program development in all its elements for NA, fromidentifying market-tailoring opportunities with the Global team tospecific execution elements at market-level.

  • Lead and driveprogram development process, including timelines, leading allcross-functional teams to ensure programs are completed on time with theall the necessary level of detail and local tailoring (including retailerneeds) and effectively communicated to the field no time.

  • Provide input toadvertising and Account Management/Trade Marketing on marketingpriorities, tailor program briefs, provide input to category advertisingplans and where applicable provide creative input (e.g., digital).

  • Provide input to CRMstrategies, defining marketing priorities, identifying key programs tosupport, and adjust priorities going forward based on program findings.

Performance / Market /Competitive Tracking and Reporting

  • Leads development of ongoingreviews that track performance for top launches, priority productsub-categories and top line Makeup and Fragrance categories; includingsales performance, advertising, merchandising, additional activity

  • Develops Makeup andFragrance North America market reviews for the pertinent segments ofbusiness which involves thorough research on North America trends,competition, and consumer dynamics;and required analyses; identificationof opportunities and strategic recommendations.

Presentation andCommunication to the Field

  • Develops outline,oversees development of presentation and any other materials created for Salesand Retailer meetings, as well as regional and strategy meetings on anas-needed basis.

  • Responsible forclearly and effectively communicating program / category /marketstrategies to the field in a timely manner, including but not limited toprogramming guidelines, RVP calls, Field weekly updates, BA website, ELTV, etc.

  • Defines strategy andworks closely with NOAM visual merchandising team for excellence in visualmerchandising execution.

Financial, Budgetary, andPricing Management

  • Manages North AmericaMakeup and Fragrance budgets inclusive of historical budget spendinganalysis and proposals for future plans.

  • Oversees analysis of categoryportfolio and development of seasonal category plan, as well as skuproductivity resulting in recommendations for sku discontinuation.

  • Leads/executes /updates all Makeup and Fragrance forecasts and work requests in a timelyfashion for the North America affiliate.

  • Manages pricingprocess for Makeup, providing input to Global marketing in defining theguidelines for the US as a market of reference, and ensuring US executionis aligned with global guidance.Coordinates tracking of price impact on sales performance.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Undergraduate degreerequired. MBA/Masters a plus.

  2. 8 years relevantwork experience in the cosmetic industry.Enthusiasm for makeup and fragrance is preferable.

  3. Thorough knowledge ofPC as well as NPD, Data warehouse and other Estee Lauder computing systemsor enthusiasm re: learning new processes, systems and procedures.

  4. Must be an excellentteam player with the ability to build, foster and nurture relationshipswith members of the Global Makeup Marketing team and cross-functionalteams.

  5. Must be highlyorganized and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to manage multipleprojects simultaneously with un-prompted follow-through.

  6. Excellent written andoral communications.

Position

requires creativity and knowledge in all areas of marketing including the

ability to develop and implement innovative marketing programs, knowledge of

marketing trends and consumer tastes, knowledge of Estee Lauder’s product goals

and objectives. Knowledge of functions

of Developmental Marketing, Product Development, Creative, Consumer Research,

Advertising and Sales and their effect on product marketability, as well as a

proven ability to review budgets, sales and marketing related activity to

coordinate a successful marketing program.
