This is an executive role focused on Merger and Acquisition transaction leadership for Estee Lauder Companies IT. The role leads due diligence, business engagement, external engagement, and integration planning. The person in this role has significant enterprise influence because they influence go/no-go decisions on mergers and lead a portion of the value realization for a given transaction.

This position requires executive/partner level consulting skills, similar to a practice lead at an industry consulting type of firm. Expertise required includes 10 years of demonstrated experience in broad information technology leadership, strong consulting talent, and demonstrated expertise and knowledge of Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures including pre-deal operations and information technology due diligence, integration planning, separation planning, synergy and cost savings analysis, and/or post-close transformation.

This role will be a key business partner to the head of ELCV and will partner with his/her staff to drive business outcomes through technology. This position will provide thought leadership, management and oversight of all merger integration solutions (cloud first, however on premises where required).

This position is based in New York City and reports into the VP Global Functions Technology Leader with a matrix relationship to the head of ELCV.

  • Leader on the M&A planning integration team. Keep present on the ELC acquisition strategy and appropriately communicate “must know” information.

  • Execute all due diligence efforts effectively and efficiently.

  • Deliver outstanding results through innovative integration solutions and efforts, on time, on budget.

  • Guide transaction team to follow IT playbook process, drive alignment between IT and acquisition business case, ensure IT responsibilities are staffed, manage exceptions. Consult with IT senior leadership of the acquired entity to prioritize integration activities, coach appropriate change management/culture actions, and align IT organization assets.

  • Develop, attract and new talent inside the organization and create and exciting rotational program that fosters the development of the IT talent.

  • Work collaboratively across the GIS organization to ensure all technology services needs are identified in a timely way and communicated.

  • Actively manage the cultural integration of acquired technology resources.

  • Coordinate with technology brokers to evaluate new application technologies and service offerings and manage the integration of application and infrastructure services into existing IT systems. Understand business requirements and work with process analysts to ensure that integration activities enhance business processes and minimize negative impact. Coordinate with enterprise architects and information architects to ensure new services align to roadmaps and to understand the impact on the organization’s information architecture.

  • Budget for multiple cost centers; multiple concurrent projects and provide executive leadership for several global transformations projects and programs concurrently. These services will remain at or below market costs, transparently reported and effectively controlled.

  • Manage a global IT of employees who reside in New York, Hong Kong, United Kingdom and an extended team of 45 in India. Develop staff and manage the future state and IT teams that is necessary to support and strategies globally, regionally and locally.


Leadership Skills

  • Excellent skills and demonstrated experience with leading complex company merger integrations and divestitures.

  • Proven track record running large scale ERP systems integration projects.

  • Ability to manage through ambiguity and ever-changing timelines and business assumptions.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to align diverse populations.

  • Excellent Emotional Intelligence.

Technical Skills

  • Deep experiences with enterprise business integration (SAP, OR, etc.).

  • Clear understanding of fundamental enabling infrastructure integration (networks, AD and security, storage, cloud, end user computing).

  • Demonstrated experience leading large complex ERP systems integration in many global environments.

  • Ability to run complex due diligence projects and identify risks.

  • Competent in new technology evaluation, ability to support technical change management and provide thought leadership skills in integration technologies, tools and services.

Business Skills

  • Collaborative relationship building skills with various internal and external stakeholders.

  • Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking abilities.

  • Prestige Beauty industry knowledge or experience not required, however must have experience with complex integrations understanding multiple retail business models including O2O; New Retail.
