About Global Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability (GCCS)

The Global Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability (GCCS) function is responsible for understanding and managing the economic, social and environmental impacts that are created by the Company’s operations and decisions along its value chain. By strengthening enterprise policies, establishing baselines, and identifying future goals and targets for our brands, regions and functions, GCCS helps the organization to better manage risks, reduce or avoid costs, and build on our heritage of corporate social responsibility.

About the Job

This position is responsible for developing the enterprise strategy for the Global Corporate Citizenship & Sustainability (GCCS) function and facilitating the planning of key enterprise initiatives in alignment with the strategy. Together with the VP, Corporate Citizenship & Governance, this person will foster alignment with brands, regions, and functions on priority focuses, and advising priority units on respective approaches and go-to-market messaging. In close partnership with Global Communications and the GCCS, ESG Executive Director, this person will also drive content development for annual report publication.

About Your Resposibilities

Develop enterprise strategy for GCCS and facilitate alignment across ELC

  • Develop the annual strategy in collaboration with GCCS leads; gather input from relevant units and ensure alignment with key functional strategies (e.g. sustainability component of Supply Chain strategy)

  • Analyze external trends and benchmarks for insights to inform strategy development

  • Perform brand portfolio analysis to identify citizenship & sustainability focus areas for priority brands & regions, including ELC Enterprise brand

  • Partner with Brand Marketing and Global Communications and Regions to evolve the story-telling and external messaging for priority brands, including ELC Enterprise brand across regions

Facilitate planning and development of key enterprise initiatives

  • Leverage Strategic Planning process & Enterprise Wide Leadership (EWL) platform to facilitate planning of key enterprise initiatives with relevant functions (e.g. Supply Chain, R&D, Global Communications, Public Affairs, etc.) & brands to jointly identify approach, roles & responsibilities, timeline and resource requirements

  • Build strategic relationships across ELC to increase collaboration, monitor progress of key enterprise initiatives and provide escalation support & facilitation as needed

  • Manage and drive progress on corporate initiatives that are GCCS-led

Drive GCCS content development for ELC annual Citizenship & Sustainability report

  • Lead the GCCS effort to develop content for the annual report publication; partner with GCCS ESG and Sustainability teams on quantitative data gathering and analysis to incorporate into report

  • In collaboration with Global Communications, develop compelling narrative and content for publication



About You

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or relevant business experience preferred

  • 10 years of relevant professional experience from a top-tier consulting firm, NGO working with business, or a CSR/Sustainability, or similar role in the private sector ideally in a multi-branded retail company or other industry with high-profile consumer brand

  • Strong knowledge of social and environmental trends, especially those relevant to the beauty and luxury industries

  • Collaborative and team player mindset, with the ability to influence

  • Strong track record in successfully managing multiple processes and disparate projects through collaborative business relationships

  • Highly analytical, can synthesize information and offer recommendations/solutions

  • High ethical standards and commitment to core values of leadership, respect, and integrity

  • Fluent in both written and conversational English; fluency in a second language an advantage
