Description

To work in the research, evaluation and follow-through of new product launches for Origins Skincare on a global basis. Assists the Origins PD team in various tasks and support the development process to ensure thorough execution of new product introductions.

Accountabilities:

  • Assist in the development process for specific categories of responsibility in skincare

  • Assist in the analysis of the competitive marketplace within product categories of responsibility (i.e. positioning, claims, technology, SRP, etc.)

  • Assist in the review of competitive prototypes

  • Assist in literature and competitive research on technologies relevant to projects

  • Assist in the tracking of new global product launches and accurately maintain Status notes

  • Assist in the distribution and evaluation of new product submissions, tracking formula changes and conducting in-house testing

  • Assist in conducting use-up rate studies

  • Assist in creating presentations or inspiration boards for meetings

  • Participate in new product brainstorming sessions

  • Participate in competitive product evaluations through written assessments as part of department Product Alerts and Competitive Review reports

  • Evaluate products for production standard purposes with team

  • Evaluate all product submissions and share feedback in a timely basis with team

  • Maintain status of all existing product reformulations (i.e. product submissions, status notes, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent required

  • 2-3 years of experience in cosmetic Product Development or Marketing – the absence of a Product Development or Marketing background may be overcome by pertinent business experience in the cosmetic industry

  • Proficiency in power point

  • Creative ability and strong skills in tactile/aesthetic evaluation of cosmetic products as well as the ability to communicate product understanding

  • Highly interested and involved in social/digital platforms

  • Excellent organization, communication, planning and follow-through skills

  • Multi-functional, flexible to handle ever changing priorities

  • Clear, concise business writing skills as well as verbal skills; be able to convey ideas in a concise and clear way
