Senior Data Scientist, Innovation Strategy

This role will work closely with the strategy team to solve short and long term business questions by creating analytical and statistical frameworks to interpret large data sets. An ideal candidate regularly will evaluate and test alternate models to optimize the output. The result of the projects will be actionable recommendations based on data mining, modeling, and machine learning with a focus on driving key business KPIs. This role also needs to have the ability to frame and structure the approach, output, and key actions and will present to senior management for implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across brands, regions, and functions to define key questions and needs and brainstorm data-driven solutions

  • Research and develop statistical learning models for data analysis

  • Recognize important patterns / trends, link these to business context, and conclude key actions steps

  • Deliver succinct presentations with business need, approach, digestible output, and recommended actions

  • Develop and maintaining detailed project plans; manage project deliverables in line with the plan

  • Liaise with and update Program Managers / Senior Management on project progress

  • Support project evaluation / reporting metrics / KPIs

  • Stay current on latest technology to optimize results


  • Minimum of five years of practical experience with SAS, ETL, data processing, database programming, and data analytics

  • Masters in computer science, statistics, applied math, or related field

  • Extensive background in data mining and statistical analysis

  • Able to understand various data types / structures and common methods for transformation

  • Able to recognize patterns / trends in data analysis

  • Excellent predictive modeling skills

  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, C

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Flexible mindset, with the ability to shift focus, multi-task, and prioritize in a rapidly changing and sometimes unpredictable environment
