Director, E-Commerce Creative Design, Clinique
Clinique.com has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Digital Design Director / Art Director to contribute to our in-house Ecommerce Creative team. The ideal candidate is an experienced ecommerce creative lead with strong visual concepting skills, meticulous craftsmanship and typography, and a passion for photography and design. Must be extremely organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure creative environment.
The Design Director, Ecommerce will be a key driver of creative excellence, helping to move sales and the creative needle towards more emotional, brand-building work that weaves content into ecommerce. Projects will range from hands-on design for site refreshes, emails and promotions to concepting and overseeing large-scale programs and helping to elevate the look tone and feel of Clinique.com. Key responsibilities include managing and mentoring the Digital Design team, planning and directing photo shoots and evolving our style guides, templates and processes.
This position is extremely collaborative and requires a high level of social savvy and professionalism.
Manage the creation and delivery of Clinique’s ecommerce creative workflow
Evolve and elevate digital design while supporting and maintaining our already-strong brand DNA
Drive concept ideation for digital marketing initiatives based on strategic objectives and KPIs
Concept and design a wide variety of digital assets including homepages, landing pages, emails and banners
Partner with the Copy team to concept all phases of digital asset creation (photo shoots, production art, image compression, animation, etc.) for desktop, mobile, email, online advertising and retailer partners
Evolve and extend Clinique’s global digital style guidelines
Lead, mentor, manage and inspire Clinique’s Ecommerce design team, providing thought leadership, sharing best practices and leading brainstorms
Collaborate the Social Media and Offline Creative teams to streamline content creation
Oversee and provide feedback to global market, retail and outside agency partners
Stay up to date on the latest design trends, digital platforms, innovative tools and competitive landscape.
Meet all deadlines under pressure and react to unexpected schedule changes
8 years related design experience—with a minimum of 3 years working in-house for a busy, ecommerce business
BA/BS/BFA degree or equivalent in graphic design or art direction
Proven experience working for a busy Ecommerce company, repeatedly coming up with new and fresh ideas for programs and campaigns
Impeccable taste, typographic skills and craftsmanship
Fluency designing with motion, animation and video
Ability to lead a team and juggle multiple hands-on projects simultaneously
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Deep knowledge of all the relevant digital software and processes (e.g. Adobe CS, image compression, animation, HTML5, etc.)
Strong communication skills and collaborative/open-minded working style
A great portfolio showing high-end product design work for the following: desktop, mobile, email, online advertising, product launches, campaigns, promotions, and other marketing related projects
Experience designing for women and beauty/fashion/luxury brands
UX/UI experience designing websites or other digital platforms
An obsession with online shopping!
