Product Specialist, Global Product Development & Innovation, La Mer

Assists and supports global team throughout full product development process in order to create the highest quality products while meeting timelines and strategic objectives. Collaborates on idea generation by working directly with the Global Product Development team and select cross functional teams.


  • Responsible for translating and developing, with PD team, La Mer’s vision and inspiration

  • Involved in brainstorming and ideating concepts and programs

  • Assist in the initiation, tracking and execution of projects throughout the PD and R D process from initiating paperwork to evaluation to assisting in approval of submissions from concept to counter tracking all milestones

  • Creates visuals for concept development and presentation support

  • Work with supervisor to evaluate submissions and support commincation to R&D parterns to drive program developments forward

  • Assist in on site formula development and approvals from lab standard to first production standard

  • Issue PD/LM status minutes

  • Issue weekly trend reports on new competitive new product introductions, innovations and competition as well as outside industry/technology inspirations

  • Issue and track regional meeting status notes

  • Issue and track vendor recap meetings

  • Update and issue weekly lab status

  • Complete work within timelines, tracking critical key dates and maintaining timelines

  • Work with select cross functional groups to communicate PD status on timelines and correspond daily to coordinate efficient and accurate flow of information on projects and ensure that timelines are met

  • Attend PPD and other necessary meetings for projects

  • Competitive shop as necessary and report on key insights and opportunities

  • Help manage product submission distribution, logging and development tracking

  • Help manage product standard process



  • Undergraduate college degree required with preferred focus on sciences, design and or development.

  • 2 years related experience, preferred Product Design / Product Development experience.

  • Excellent organization, communication and follow-through skills.

  • Multi-functional, flexible and able to adapt to ever changing priorities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and IOS systems.

  • Detail-oriented and Creative.

  • Interested in beauty – skincare and color, alternative industry innovation and skin biology.

  • Self-motivated with a desire to achieve excellence in execution.

  • Thinks strategically and able to build collaborative relationships with our cross-functional teams.
