JOB FUNCTION

Research, develop and create improvements, which enhance productivity, cost, product quality and customer service of the Estee Lauder companies. Works closely with Manufacturing and Distribution management on the development and implementation of strategies and initiatives. Ensure the best manufacturing and distribution techniques are used in production and distribution for optimum quality, customer service and quantity output, provide engineering support for capital equipment purchases and perform time studies to optimize pick and pack, technical services and filling and assembly operations.

Key Roles/Responsibilities

  • New Product Introduction – works closely with manufacturing in the development of labor standards

  • Researches, recommends and implements improved production procedures, processes or systems to improve labor utilization in manufacturing and distribution.

  • Develops Production and Distribution layouts, determines manpower requirements, and conducts capacity analysis and cost justification.

  • Participates as member of a project team assigned to meet specific objective

  • Works closely with IE’s to ensure consistent methods are used in developing and monitoring productivity and that efficient procedures are use.

  • Initiates cost reductions and cost avoidance by investigating and recommending cost reducing manufacturing/distribution capital equipment or systems

Qualifications

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: University degree in related field. BS in Industrial Engineering preferred

Experience:1-3 yrs. exp. in Manufacturing environment

Competencies:

  • PC expertise (Office, Simulation, other databases).

  • Knowledge in SAP

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required

  • Other: Position requires travel to Estee Lauder locations
