M.A.C Cosmetics Channel Development Manager (Sydney)

Description

We have a new exciting permanent full time opportunity to join our MAC Cosmetics team as Channel Development Manager (CDM).

This role will see you develop and implement Free Standing Store sales initiatives, productivity KPIS, stock planning, store merchandising and execution of scheduled marketing activities to achieve net and retail targets and to meet brand objectives.

This role also manages the relationship with SMC retailers (MECCA.) As the primary contact the CDM will be responsible for aspects of business such as;

  • rolling out and developing specific marketing plans

  • aligning with education and artistry to ensure we maximize opportunities to communicate to the in store teams

  • Ensure all VM in store is maintained and gondolas are updated according to recent promotions

  • Negotiation of promotional opportunities in store and online

This role will be responsible for but is not limited to:

  • In conjunction with the National Sales Manager formulate the National Free Standing & MECCA Retail & Net Sales targets by Free Standing Store/MECCA door. Allocate targets across State teams seasonally.

  • Implement strategies to ensure targets are achieved and where possible exceeded

  • Prepare monthly productivity report and ensure these are in line with target and make recommendations to National Sales Manager for adjustments

  • Partner with MECCA on growth opportunities and identifying programs and launches that will drive further growth for their business

  • Identify programs to drive performance of hero products across both FSS/online and MECCA

  • Work with National Sales Manager to develop specific sales strategies to ensure execution of sales targets and sell-through objectives are met

  • Partner with marketing manager to develop Omni channel marketing programs to drive traffic in store with a 360 approach including idea, media and in store execution

  • Partner with Product Marketing team to ensure product mix and stock level optimums are executed as required

  • Manage P&L by Free Standing Store in conjunction with Retail Operations assistant to achieve annual targets and strategic objectives

  • Ensure FSS teams are adhering to store operations procedures and stringing for excellence in managing store open/close procedures, stock management and cycle counts etc.

  • Work with the corporate SMC team on clear roles for them in store and how they can best support the operational needs of the MAC business (optimal stock levels, testers on the gondola, off location displays etc)

  • Recommend changes and new initiatives to National Sales Manager on store activities/new products/promotions

  • Review and analyses current CRM programs and make recommendation to drive customer retention and loyalty

  • Review and analyse national performance and implement strategic business to drive growth

  • Maintain awareness of competitor sales incentives and remuneration and ensure MAC remains brand of choice for makeup artist employment

  • Partner with the National Sales Manager to plan and execute Retail Managers meetings on a national basis ( 1-2 yearly) with program covering marketing and sales plans together with skill development, team management learning

  • Partner with the Regional and SEE team to ensure education training and certification of Make Up Artists is implemented in a timely manner as per Brand guidelines

Qualifications

About you:

  • You will hold qualifications in Sales and Business Development or equivalent work experience in a sales capacity

  • Have previous experience in a fast paced retail organization or beauty industry experience

  • Exceptional communication skills (internal and external customers), ability to motivate people, well groomed, fashion awareness.

  • Solid understanding of retail operations management

  • Degree/ or equivalent working experience in Marketing and /or Sales related principals

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution

  • Working knowledge of a computerised system including: Microsoft Office 2007/2010 application (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc);
