Field Sales Manager M.A.C Cosmetics

The Manager Retail Operations / Area Manager (MRO) is responsible for the MAC business success and image in his/her geographical area (Free standing store & Department store counters). The regio is Noord-Brabant, Utrech, Limburg

S/he is responsible for implementing sales plans and marketing activity and maintaining the highest standards of customer service and store presentation in line with guidelines provided by the Global MAC office. This position is also responsible for coaching & developing store managers and teams

His/her Responsibilities includes:

Customer service

Display excellent customer service skills to the team within all point of sales in your area.

Quickly and effectively resolve customer issues.

People management

Coach and develop store manager / assistant store manager and set up succession plan for all levels

Sales management:

Implementation and achievement of sales plan by location and review with store manager.

Monitor results and take remedial action on an immediate and ongoing basis.

Work with Artist training and retail managers to achieve productivity targets in each location.

Inventory Management

Continuously monitor stock levels (minimums and maximums) in conjunction with Store Manager to ensure optimum coverage while minimizing excess.

Make recommendations regarding excess stock.

Ensure Returns are managed monthly within guidelines provided.

Ensure monthly orders are managed in within guidelines provided.


Plan marketing calendar by location in consultation with marketing department and within standards outlined by Global Marketing and Retail Events.

Ensure proper anniversary dates of marketing activity.

Ensure all collateral/props used at counter are within guidelines provided by Marketing/Training Departments.

Train Manager to Assist with Event implementation.

Attend Events.


  • Higher degree or equivalent by experience

  • At least 5 years of experience as District Manager/Area Manager/ Regional Manager in the retail/consumer driven/point of sales industry.

  • Strong Ability to drive and execute sell out plans

  • Understanding of luxury brand retail demands

  • Personal skills: entrepreneurial spirit, good negotiator, organized and focused on priorities, great interpersonal skills. Very structured & organized. Process Minded person.

  • Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point etc.

  • Fluent Knowledge of Dutch & English

  • Strategic thinking

  • Experience with retail software for conversion (shopper Trak or other) or workforce management tool is a plus.
