As a member of the APAC Total Rewards Team, the Senior Compensation Analyst will lead all aspects of sales incentive compensation for the POS employees located in APAC. This includes driving the design and evolution of the Sales Incentive Plan programs, and analyzing and reporting on results of the program. This role is also responsible for sales contests and other ancillary sales motivation programs (i.e. awards, contests, etc.) that motivate and reward desired sales performance.

On the other hand, the Senior Compensation Analyst will also be responsible for analysis of market data on an international basis to support the development and implementation of compensation programs to ensure competitiveness. This role will work closely with the other compensation team members providing analytical and operational support and requires an in depth understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures, and should be proficient in analysis and interpretation of data to make logical conclusions.

This role will also provide strategic compensation analytics support and assistance for both POS and non-POS Compensation ad hoc projects in China in partnership with the Regional/Global Total Rewards team and the China Compensation & Benefits team.

With regard to POS/Retail Compensation :

  • Leads the planning and execution of the Sales Incentive Plan programs and ancillary sales motivation programs to drive sales performance aligned with the APAC POS Compensation Framework and Guidelines.

  • Leads the design, evolution, and results analysis & reporting for the Sales Incentive Plan programs and ancillary sales motivation programs.

  • Collaborates with Affiliate and Regional Brand and Sales Managers to drive Global and APAC consistency, sales operations efficiency, and sales effectiveness. Leads special POS Compensation projects as assigned.

  • Champions system, process, and program improvements that facilitate the efficient operation and effective reporting of sales variable compensation programs and ancillary sales motivation programs.

  • Identifies metrics to measure sales compensation effectiveness. Analyses sales compensation performance against targets.

  • Identifies, assesses, and priorities opportunities to supplement the Sales Incentive Plan programs in order to capitalize on short-term business opportunities, address performance gaps, and further drive sales performance in line with APAC POS Compensation Framework and Guidelines. Recommends, designs, and reports on ancillary sales motivation programs to address these needs.

  • Educates sales representatives and managers on sales plan mechanics, policy and guideline interpretations.

  • Partners with key stakeholders across the organization (e.g., Sales, Sales Operations, Brands, HR, Finance, etc.) to lead and evolve the governance model for the sales compensation programs.

  • Compiles and prepares data and executive presentations for senior management.

  • Researches best practices and recommend plan and program revisions and/or new plans that are cost effective and consistent with business objectives.

With regard to non-POS/non-Retail Compensation :

  • Lead delivery in multi-disciplinary projects, covering a number of reward concepts, including market benchmarking, total rewards positioning, etc.

  • Analysis of large amounts of data using statistical methods.

  • Develop excel based analytical tools which aids in intelligent data outputs for faster decision making.

  • Using HRIS and other Total Rewards systems (such as Market Pay) to run queries and data analytics.

  • Act as a key contributor to the further development and implementation of compensation programs to include the International Salary Range Structures.

  • Assist in salary survey participation and summarize market data for broader review within the Total Rewards team.

  • Analyzes survey data and maintains current in-depth knowledge of market trends to support recommendations to management regarding salary planning and budget.

  • Support the communication of reward decisions both within and outside the HR teams.

  • Other miscellaneous compensation project research and analyses, as needed.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations; review ad hoc internal project information requests.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

  • 7 years’ relevant professional experience working with sales compensation or sales operations, ideally in a retail sales organization.

  • Experience and/or background in Compensation and Data Analytics preferred.

  • Deep knowledge and experience with best practices for sales compensation and sales motivation programs. Deep understanding of trends in sales compensation and sales motivation mechanisms.

  • Advanced understanding of sales compensation/motivation processes, systems, and metrics.

  • Advanced ability and proven track record of consistently designing, launching, executing, and measuring the success of effective sales compensation/motivation programs that can be operated efficiently.

  • Advanced ability to enable, train, and coach others on sales enablement/motivation mechanisms.

  • Proven ability to identify and prioritize sales compensation/motivation requirements from multiple stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to quickly define and execute standardized processes and enable others to do so as well. Successful track record of ensuring process compliance and driving improvements to standardized processes.

  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities. Ability to lead and execute multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficient with HR database queries.

  • Outstanding presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, including summarizing information for executive consumption.

  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills. Advanced analytical execution skills in Excel.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft business applications like Power Point, Word etc.

  • Excellent ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment, including virtual teams. Strong ability to influence, educate, and enable others.
