The role of Indirect Procurement Manager is to lead, develop and implement global sourcing strategies for categories and subcategories encompassing Visual Merchandising. The role will leverage and complement APAC and China-focused sourcing strategies and activities with global sourcing for fixtures, materials and displayers intended for markets across all regions.

The Manager will leverage the existing APAC Regional sourcing strategies and process to establish, implement and drive a APAC/China-based source of supply program for the world. This will include programs designed in Global or North America teams, APAC and other regional design teams. The manager will consider market requirements, specifications, quantities and programs to optimize the sourcing opportunities (e.g. vendor development, pricing, supplier base, speed-to-market, innovative solutions, export strategies). The role requires the coordination of sourcing opportunities with China, APAC and Global internal partners and stakeholders.

The Manager is responsible for the source-of-supply process management, including sourcing strategy, sourcing activities and vendor management for China-based vendors (for APAC and non-APAC VM, store fixtures and store materials programs, including Specialty-Multi counters/fixtures). In addition, the role includes collaboration with the Global Indirect Procurement category teams, other Regional IP category teams (EMEA, LATAM, TR, UK), Global, Regional and Local Design & Development teams and Global Visual Merchandising and Creative teams.

Duties will include developing source-of-supply / sourcing strategy and activities such as: supply base management, negotiations, risk management and contract management.

  • Accountable for the development, drive and management of Supplier-facing global category strategies and tactical activities for Visual Merchandising categories and related sub-categories to achieve short and long-term savings targets, year over year improvements in the total cost of ownership, quality and service in order to deliver a competitive advantage to the business

  • Collaborate in an integrated manner with the Indirect Procurement Global/Regional Category and Brand and Global Design/Development teams to develop and define the sourcing strategies and with other pertinent Global/Regional business owners (Marketing, Design, Creative, Visual Merchandising..), as needed

  • Lead all supplier and source-of-supply management activities for China-based vendors to secure an optimized, consistent, reliable and capable vendor base for these categories, while maintaining assured supply at high quality and service level standards.

  • Provide supplier market intelligence to the Global and Regional Category teams.

Deliver and execute sourcing programs that meet program requirements (quality, timeline, pricing, functionality), while leveraging the same to identify opportunities to leverage across APAC and non APAC programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Finance is preferred; certifications in design, engineering, materials management are a plus.

  • Strategic sourcing experience – 5-6 years minimum category sourcing management experience. Preferably minimum 2-3years in visual merchandising, and store materials and fixtures and/or experience in construction management.

  • Some knowledge of supply base in China for visual merchandising elements.

  • Ability to work with the Global/Regional/Local counterparts across the functions & geographies.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical, influencing, category management, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Effective commercial and contractual skills

  • Ability to work in a stressful commercial environment to tight schedules

  • Ability to handle uncertainty, fragmented data

  • Delivery focus with project management skills

  • Expertise in SAP / Ariba

  • Proficient communication skills in English and Mandarin (Putonghua) in both written and spoken forms. Cantonese is a plus.

Able to travel internationally and across China (approximately 15%)
