PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Responsible for the design and execution of Visual Merchandising (VM) in Asia Pacific for Estee Lauder.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand marketing calendars for the Fiscal Year and create merchandising illustration schemes for distribution to the markets for Estee Lauder in Asia Pacific.

  • Provide VM guidelines and manage projects to ensure delivery aligned with the brand and business objectives.

  • Takes charge of choosing visual content of light boxes based on product launches and marketing calendar.

  • Responsible for collating information such as each location’s counter elevation for monthly execution of VM collaterals.

  • Be a key partner in new/renewal store planning & merchandising to provide quality input to the multifunctional team to understand the display differences and solution choices that will enhance shopper productivity.

  • Develop regionally sensitive approaches in VM and collaterals execution.

  • Prompt execution and provision of creative solutions to all regional program and activities.

  • Maintain regular communication with Global Merchandising Department (New York) and the VM Managers in the region on issues pertaining to VM.

  • Responsible for coaching the VM team.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION:

  • Degree in Design or Art School education preferred; creative and has formal training in interior design or VM in brands/agency.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Interior or Retail VM department and 2-3 years in leading teams.

  • Strong in designing and drawing scaled working construction drawings.

  • Experience in using CAD programs preferably Macintosh Vector Works and Photoshop.

  • Must be fluent in Adobe illustrator, Photoshop, for the design and execution of merchandising scheme making.

  • Possess good understanding on how to read marketing calendars and execute VM at the counter as a strong point of sales.

  • Understands retail Store Design (SD) & VM aspects, i.e. lighting, furniture design, detailing fixtures, materials, etc. as well as the importance of maintaining consistency.

  • Has experience in graphics, layouts and interior signage.

  • Has an understanding of traffic flow and human scale.

  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and the ability to communicate with staffs of all levels.

  • Professional and shows understanding of corporate image & conduct.

  • Displays the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Strong coordination skills and communicates confidently with others both verbally and through drawing; communicating technical and design issues to staffs of all levels.

  • Highly interested in the retail industry of Cosmetics/ Fragrance.

  • Must be adaptable to new computer technology and programs.
