Senior Planner, Third Party Manufacturing Planning

Based on Sales Forecasts of local and overseas’ markets, properly plan the procurement for the following to optimize service, inventory, and cost:

This role will be responsible for the planning for the in-line items which are produced at China TPMs.

Raw Materials/Packaging components/WIP from both overseas/local suppliers and Estee Lauder own plants

Finish Goods (FG) from regional Third Party Manufactures (TPM)

Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with suppliers to support manufacturing needs for raw materials and components, market needs for FG’s on time and to achieve continuous improvement in quality and cost reductions.

Keep low inventory level while maintaining high on time delivery in full (OTIF) ratio and ensure inventory is reconciled between ELC and supplier books.

Lead and coordinate timely execution of obsolete and excess material repurposing and destruction for optimized inventory.

Maintain and analyze daily, weekly, monthly reporting and scorecards to support EDGE (every day great execution) mindset and drive performance improvement.

Collaborate with other planning teams and master data to ensure solid data integrity and optimized planning parameters and Bill of Materials.

Embrace 'leading from every chair' mentality by proactively taking ownership in the day to day activities as well as challenging oneself to lead certain improvement initiatives

Engage with the team and the managers in regional and global initiatives to drive continuous improvement of key KPIs

Route jobs

  1. Strictly follow the new product launch timeline from Global Brand Supply Chain (GBSC) to cut orders to the TPM/suppliers/ELC plants for finished goods and the needed components/bulk/WIP for finished goods production. Follow up with the supplier to align the delivery plan.

  2. Manage the new products planning process with global partners to ensure that right quantities of products are delivered to the distribution centers on time with high quality.

Collaborate with the TPM to develop finished goods production plan

  • Regularly (Daily/weekly) review the progress with the TPM on the production plan

  • Address any issues popped up in the production through partnership with TPM and other ELC functional teams (ME/QA/GSR/Logistics, and etc.) to ensure the finished goods requirement can be fulfilled on time

  • Manage the supply (component/bulk/WIP) for finished goods production at the TPM

  • Regularly (Daily/weekly) follow-up with the supplier/other region's TPMs/ELC plants for the components/bulk/WIP supply progress in order to support the finished goods production plan

  • Address any issues popped up through partnership with TPM and other ELC functional teams to minimize the impact to the finished goods production \

  • Proactively touch base with GBSC to report the delivery progress (raw material/packing components/WIPs/mass) and finished goods productions status, raise the delivery issues and collaboratively figure out the solutions.

Manage the inventory located at TPM and achieve the minimum inventory level (DOS/Excess Inventory/Aged Inventory)


  1. College degree or above in manufacturing, operations, supply chain or engineering disciplines

  2. Strong English proficiency (both Oral & Written) is a must

  3. Chinese communication is a plus

    • >4 years of experience on material planning/production planning. Prefer to have the experience of new product launch planning.
    • In-depth knowledge of SAP D2B/Material Master
    • Basic Financial and Supply Chain Planning knowledge
    • Strong technical skillset such as Excel and data analytics
    • Project management experience under multi-national/cultural environment
    • Adaptability / flexibility to new environment
    • Ability to work well both independently as a self-starter and a leader, and within a cross-functional group as a team player
    • Leadership to constantly deliver results and problem-solving / Can do attitude
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills/analytical and negation skills
    • Customer oriented and ability to adequately manage trade-offs (e.g. Cost vs. Service level)
