POSITION SUMMARY

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainer to join La Mer/ Aveda and Le Labo cluster within Travel Retail South East Asia based in Singapore. This role will report to the Education Manager and will be responsible for trainings in airports and downtown duty free stores across the assigned region with 80% of the time based in the field. He/ She will also be expected to conduct and facilitate classroom trainings, events and seminars. Handle customer feedback and enquiries. Share the case learning and the best practice. Manage, update and promote the e-learning platform and its usage. Incorporate e-learning in training program deliveries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Education & Coaching
  • Educate brands’ field team and generic staff of product knowledge and selling behaviors to enable them to consistently achieve Sales and Services Expectations through the execution of basic trainings and regular field coaching

  • Plan and execute seasonal seminars and all field programs according to product launch strategy in order to ensure the field team & generic staff are confident to achieve desired result

  • Adapt local relevancy to custom-fit needs of each travel retail market /retailer and level of audience to ensure immediate translation of learning.

  • Develop and customize the training material based on different language skills/ standard level with alignment of global materials

  • Be the focal point of the localized training workshops and coordinate the related logistics and follow-up activities

  • Identify relevant education opportunities and feedback to Education Manager/Regional Education Manager through regular reporting.

  1. Field Team Support & Talent Development
  • Act as a role model, set the example and provide directions, support and develop the consultants to ensure that they have the skills required to successfully achieve brand’s KPIs.

  • Coach and motivate Artists based on individual potentials and skill to drive sales objectives and brand equity in travel retail environment.

  • Prepare the field team for Certification program following target guidelines issued by Global Education and/or Travel Retail APAC.

  • Motivate the field team to remain active and earn learning badges on E-learning platforms.

  • Maintain high grooming standards and in-store sales & services behaviors to ensure consistency in the customer experience through the execution of the Service Excellence.

  • Work alongside with the field team to identify and address individual training opportunities.

  1. Other Tasks & Responsibilities
  • To be a role model of personal grooming to all filed team based on standards as set by the Company and each of the brands (La Mer, Aveda and LeLabo)

  • Maintain the brand image at the counter by ensuring counters, tester stands and displays are in tip-top conditions and states.

  • Expected time spend in field is 80% and must be readily prepared to work on any projects assigned by Education Manager/Regional Education Manager.

  • Work within specific budget as defined by the Brand General Manager and review on a regular basis with Education Manager/Regional Education Manager and justify and variances from budget.

  • Provide regular feedback to Education Manager/Regional Education Manager detailing results of markets visits.

  • Complete monthly education reports and submit to Education Manager in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive knowledge on beauty and always up to date with the latest beauty trends.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (both oral & written) is a must

  • Resourceful, flexible, well organized, highly disciplined with the ability to multi task and stability to handle stressful and demanding situation

  • Keen eye for detail

  • Strong computer literacy and tech savvy

  • Excellent facilitation skills

  • Minimum 2 years in a training position and/or having 3 years of experience within the cosmetics or travel retail industry

  • Have a passion for selling luxury brands and delivering high-touch services with the understanding in retail business and market with excellent customer service skills and standards

  • An excellent team player with great interpersonal skills

  • A self-motivator who is passionate, energetic with the ability to motivate and energize others

  • Willingness to travel internationally 70% of the time

  • University degree holder preferred
